If you knew you'd live to 100, how would you change your life today?

The Difference Between Living to 100 & 100:100

There is a big difference between “getting lucky” or “having good genes” and living to 100,versus living 100:100, at 100% for 100 years. You’ve heard us say it before, but it bears repeating, your 100 is coming, whether you think you want to live to 100 or not. We want you to embody the 100 Year Lifestyle. It’s important that you have the long-term vision to get to 100 in style, healthy, and enjoying each day. What we don’t want is for your next 30, 40, 50, 60, or more years to be a painful burden of loss, illness, and isolation for you or your loved ones. So, having a long and healthy life isn’t based on a roll of the dice!

You Have Choices

At the 100 Year Lifestyle we have a laser focus when it comes to your understanding that you have options. You have choices, and just because a medical doctor (or these days the media) says something doesn’t make it so. In an article from CNN entitled “The darker side of living to 100,” it states:

…life can be difficult. Estimates suggest that chronic pain “in people aged 85 years or older is common,” affecting the majority of people from this age group. Aged lives of quiet desperation are sadly not rare…In drawing attention to this, we are not attempting to promote further victimhood. What we hope to achieve is to cast a little light upon the darker side of our ageing and of our ageing societies. Old age should not be sought out just for the sake of it.

Wow. And the media has spoken. Let’s be clear, we’re not saying there aren’t people on their way to 100 who are not healthy, in pain, and yes, leading lives of quiet desperation. There are. But they are all ages, from children all the way to 100 years old and older. You can become a victim of polypharmacy, of medically unknown symptoms, or just bad medical advice at any age. Also, if you also live an unhealthy lifestyle and make poor choices, then pain and dis-ease can strike at any time.
