Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chopped red onion
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 2 cups chopped broccoli florets
- 3 medium carrots, diced
- 3 celery stalks, diced
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- Sea salt and pepper
- 6 cups vegetable broth
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup chopped purple cabbage
- 2 cups chopped kale
Directions
Heat olive oil in a large pot; add garlic and red onion and sauté for about 2 minutes, stirring.
Stir in ginger, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, and celery; cook for about 3 minutes, and stir in spices.
Add in vegetable broth and bring the mixture to a boil; lower heat and simmer for about 15 minutes or until veggies are tender.
Stir in lemon juice, cabbage, and kale and cook for about 2 minutes or until kale is wilted. Adjust the seasoning and serve hot. This Super Cleansing Detox Broth is perfect in any season!
