If you knew you'd live to 100, how would you change your life today?

National Recycling Month

world recycling month

Our planet’s health and well-being is currently being attacked. No, we aren’t talking about from aliens or some other life form. Unfortunately, humans are the ones causing the most damage to our beautiful Mother Earth. A recent study found that even though humans only make up 0.01 percent of all living things, since our civilization began, we have managed to destroy 83 percent of wild mammals. We are our own worst enemies – but that stops here. November is World Recycling Month, and it’s one of the most crucial time periods for us.

The benefits of recycling are endless. When we recycle instead of simply throwing everything away, we conserve resources. Though we sometimes think that all of our materials grow on trees and can be replenished, we couldn’t be more wrong. Every single resource we have on earth is precious, which therefore means that in order to keep them around for thousands of years to come, we need to do everything we can to recycle and reuse them.

When we create new products, we use way too much energy. As we are currently in an energy crisis, it’s important to conserve as much energy as possible to get our earth operating back to normal levels. As with materials, energy doesn’t grow on trees, and we need it to complete many everyday tasks.

Arguably the most important aspect of all is the fact that when we recycle, we save the environment. We only have one planet, and if we lose Earth, we have nowhere else to go to.

If you want to pledge and commit to reducing, reusing, and recycling, as well as buying recycled items, take this time to visit https://americarecyclesday.org/ and show your dedication. Encourage your friends, family, coworkers, and colleagues to do the same. We can save the planet if we all work together to do so. The month of November is just the beginning – it cannot simply end there.

Reduce, reuse, and recycle as a part of your everyday lifestyle. Without a planet, there is no point to living out your 100 Year Lifestyle. Be the change in the world you wish to see.
