Italy has an increasing centenarian population, and, at last count over 40 million cars on the road. No doubt, Italians, like Americans, love the freedom of driving. Come rain or come shine, there is nothing like having the freedom to take off when you want to, where you want to. In fact, the majority of the Italian population who are old enough to pass the driving test are hitting the road in Italy! And, with the addition of Candida Uderzo, at least three of them have had their drivers licenses renewed at the age of 100 or older.
Candida Uderzo was given a new license after passing an eye test at a driving school in the northern province of Vicenza. The sprightly centenarian said she liked to be autonomous and to not put pressure on her son to drive her around. What’s her secret to arriving at 100 in such good health? It’s her 100:100 lifestyle.
