If you knew you'd live to 100, how would you change your life today?

Bridge to Healthy Longevity

Edna Segers doesn’t look anywhere near her age. She just turned 100. She’s physically active with a sharp mind and an obvious zest for life. If you ask her what her secret to a long life is she’ll tell you she thinks it’s just luck. We think it’s bridge. Edna loves to play the game of bridge, and it appears to be her bridge to healthy longevity.

Edna’s 100 birthday party was celebrated with the other members of the Ashburton Bridge Club in New Zealand where she’s been a member for more than 30 years. She says she loves the game, the challenge, and the company of other players. Though she’s the oldest club member, her colleagues say she’s a good player who has made a name for herself, winning trophies over the years.

Edna acknowledges that bridge is a big part of her life stating that she loves the good and the bad of the game. Like life, Edna believes winning involves not only skill, but a bit of luck as well.

What’s a big part of your life? Is there something that you love doing that keeps you on your toes, gets you out, socializing with others? In other words, what’s your bridge to healthy longevity? To learn more about Edna and her love of the game, keep reading
