This Funnyman Might Just Make You Cry

This Funnyman Might Just Make You Cry

Dick Van Dyke started dancing and acting his way into our hearts over 60 years ago. Whether you grew up with the original version or Mary Poppins, or the more remake, you know Dick Van Dyke. One of the busiest entertainers in Hollywood, he’s continued to make appearances and do voice overs, even as he approaches his 99th birthday (December 13). But what he did on his birthday might just take the cake. One of America’s favorite funnymen might just make you cry in his latest endeavor, a music video with musician and singer Chris Martin of the band Coldplay.

In the video for Coldplay’s new song, “All My Life,” Chris plays and sings while Dick dances in his backyard, interspersed with clips from his beloved performances. The video ends with Dick surrounded by his large family (he has children in their 80’s). Smiling and laughing throughout, Dick is the ultimate example of living life at 100% for nearly 100 years

Later, on the Jimmy Kimmel show, Chris and Dick share the story of how their collaboration came about…and they laugh…a lot. Chris, no stranger to success, shares how working with Dick was possibly the most enjoyable project of his career. Clearly, there is a true bond there that makes the age difference irrelevant.

Dick Van Dyke is a living reminder of how amazing and wonderful life can be, to your very last breath. Happy birthday Dick! We hope you’ll be making us laugh (or cry) for many more years!
