Ingredients:
- 1 pound lean flank steak
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
Shiitake Mushroom Sauce:
- 2 cups sliced shiitake mushrooms
- 1 cup chopped red onions
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup homemade beef broth
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup minced
Directions:
Preheat your broiler.
Sprinkle the steak with salt and pepper and place in a broiler pan; drizzle with olive oil and broil for about 5 minutes or until cooked to your likeness. Remove the meat from the oven and keep warm in a foil.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add in olive oil; sauté red onion and garlic for about 2 minutes. stir in shiitake mushrooms for about 5 minutes and then stir in broth; bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for about 6 minutes and then stir in green onions. Stir in lemon juice and cook for 2 minutes.
Slice the steak and serve with the mushroom sauce.
